For Goodness Sake.

January 11, 2010

My cousin Joe was involved in an accident on I-470 near Kansas City yesterday.  They say it tied up traffic for an hour.  While Joe remained unharmed, his first instinct was to go and comfort an 82 year old man who had been thrown from his vehicle and was lying on the interstate.  Joe has been called a “calm in the storm” and is able to impart that peace into others in stressful situations.  It is the power of good  that is in each one of us.  God had a representative on the scene to comfort that 82 year old man.

That’s what Jesus did.  He went about doing good.  I am excited this year as we recognize the opportunities to do good.  The Bible says that it is the goodness of God that leads a man to repentance.  It was the goodness of God being demonstrated through several people that led me to become a believer.  When I really needed God to “show up”, He showed up through someone demonstrating His goodness towards me.

Moses cried out to see God’s power.
God showed him His goodness.
The Power of Good.
Demonstrate that goodness to someone
