Marriage is a covenant between two believers in Jesus Christ. We place a high value on the covenant of marriage and want your marriage to be strong and a source of great blessing. We believe that counsel should be given to each couple before marriage. We want to help you prepare for this big decision. Preparation is very important to start your marriage on a firm foundation.
Your wedding is a sacred celebration. We will assist you in planning your ceremony, but our primary focus will be preparing you for marriage. Your plans for the service should reflect that fact and also align with the beliefs of the Revolution Church. Careful planning will ensure that your wedding is meaningful to you, your family, and friends.
The Revolution Church cooperates with local churches for use of their facilities for wedding ceremonies. Renting and securing the facility or location for the ceremony is the responsibility of those getting married. We will conduct services in other churches, outdoor ceremonies and home ceremonies.
The pastoral staff of the Revolution Church performs weddings as a ministry, not as a civil service. The couple getting married is responsible to God for their decision to be married. The pastoral staff will marry those who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and are seeking to walk in obedience to Him.
Prospective couples who are not active partners of the Revolution Church will be charged a Wedding Fee and required to attend four sessions of counsel with the pastor. Couples interested in getting married are expected to attend four sessions of counsel with the pastor and his wife prior to the wedding ceremony. Additional sessions may be necessary at the discretion of the pastor.
Weddings are not scheduled for Sundays. Wedding rehearsals are held on Friday evenings from 6 to 7pm.
Securing a photographer or video company is the responsibility of the couple. Securing musicians and singers is the responsibility of the couple. Revolution Church musicians are subject to their availability and an honorarium. Musicians from outside of our church are required to bring their own instruments and equipment, and must coordinate their activities with the facility sound technicians.
The couple’s Marriage License should be brought to the Friday evening rehearsal.
